In honor of National Chicken Wing Day on Monday, July 29, discover some of the best wings New Jersey has to offer.  

B2 Bistro + Bar, Multiple locations

Salt-cured wings anyone? B2 Bistro + Bar (shown at top) in Red Bank’s got ’em, with your choice of Thai chili lime, buffalo, or BBQ sauce. They also offer wood-fired Scarpariello wings, with special-blend seasoning, tossed with cherry peppers. The B2 locations in Point Pleasant, Bayville, North Brunswick, and Toms River also offers Scarpariello wings as well as classic B2 wings with your choice of sauce. (Sauces vary across locations.) 

Bb.q Chicken, Multiple locations

With nine locations in New Jersey, Bb.q Chicken is the place to go for Korean fried chicken wings. The range of flavors varies between locations, and includes honey garlic, Cheesling, Wings of Fire, and spicy golden. Some flavors are available in all options (whole chicken, boneless, and traditional wings) and others are specific to select styles. And on National Chicken Wing Day, be on the lookout for an all-new flavor launch: Caribbean Spice!

Beacon 70, Brick

Serving boneless and bone-in wings with a range of sauce options, Beacon 70, in Brick, is ready for our common indecision. Don’t know what to pick? Go for the Wing Trifecta and get any three sauces. Options include buffalo mild, medium, hot, or atomic, garlic parmesan, honey mustard, teriyaki, and more.

Broadway Bar & Grill, Point Pleasant

If you’re looking for pub favorites, stop by The Broadway Bar & Grill, in Point Pleasant. Sit back with a draft beer and enjoy BBQ, buffalo, teriyaki, or Old Bay wings. 

Burger 25, Ship Bottom and Toms River

Located in Toms River and now Ship Bottom, Burger 25 offers delicious burgers, unique shakes, and, yes, wings! Choose an order of 5, 10, or 15 wings — boneless or bone in. And select from a range of flavors including Jack Daniels, Thai, boom boom, buffalo, and more.

Chicken or the Egg, Beach Haven and Marlton

Looking for veggie wings? Stop by Chicken or the Egg (aka “Chegg”), in Ship Bottom and Marlton. Other options on the wings menu include bone-in buffalo wings, buffalo fingers, and buffalo shrimp. As for the sauce, the list is 18 sauces long. Assess your preferred heat level with the Wing-o-Meter. If extreme heat is your thing, go for the top o’ the meter: Ludicrous (even hotter than Obscene)!

Doyle’s Pour House, Barnegat and Tuckerton

If you’re up for wings with a nice char, go to Doyle’s Pour House and use the phrase “back on the grill,” when you order. Sauces include Soccer (Captain Morgan and spicy garlic), Widow Maker, spicy garlic, and Old Bay.

Dominic’s Tavern, Bellemawr

Located in Bellmawr, Dominic’s Tavern offers 10- and 20-piece jumbo or boneless wings with an array of sauces to choose from. Sauces include hot, medium, mild, Fat Daddy, 911, BBQ,  honey BBQ, honey-hot, garlic-hot, garlic-medium, or garlic-mild. All wings come with blue cheese or ranch, plus carrots and celery. 

Ellery’s, Middlesex

If you’re in the Middlesex area, take note: Ellery’s Grill offers boneless and bone-in options, both served with celery and blue cheese. Have them tossed in your choice of sauce: BBQ, Ellery’s house buffalo, buffalo garlic, sweet Thai, or teriyaki. 

Golden Nugget Tavern, Berlin

You’ll find an authentic country bar when you stop by Golden Nugget. Serving up wings since 1980, you can order anything from a 10- to 100-piece wing meal. While you’re there, try the newly added honey-jerked spice wings. 

Hank Sauce, Sea Isle City

At the Sea Isle City location of Hank Sauce, you can order the Baked Hank Wings with your choice of sauces including herb infused, cilantro, Camo, Hank’s Heat Honey Habanero, Thai Chili, and Hank-A-Q. And if you’re a sauce fan who wants the real deal, ask about their specialty X-HOT flavors. Hank Sauce is available by the bottle as well.

The Hickory Hog, Point Pleasant

A classic BBQ spot, The Hickory Hog goes beyond wings, also offering ribs, sandwiches, and burgers. Sauces include buffalo (hot, mild, or garlic), cajun, honey BBQ, teriyaki, chipotle BBQ, and honey sriracha.

HOB Tavern, Bordentown

Heart of Bordentown, aka HOB, is the place to be if you want award-winning wings. HOB Tavern makes ’em deep fried, then tossed in your choice of sauce. In addition to the standards, you can go off the beaten-wing path and dip your wings in PB&J! The menu also includes vegetarian and vegan options.

Kinyobi, Hackensack

TGIK! and that’s because Kinyobi translates to Friday. It’s also a non-traditional Korean BBQ spot in Hackensack. Choose from the hot sauce, Sweet Taré (marinated soy sauce), or lemon black pepper (dry rub). 

Marley’s Gotham Grill, Belleville and Hackettstown

With over 300 wing sauces, Marleys’s Gotham Grill has something for everyone. Adventurous sauce seekers can try Almond Joy, cream cheese everything, Italian Parmesan, mac and cheese, pina colada, and sour cream and onion. And that’s just the beginning. 

Ms. Heavens Wings, Woodbury

Located at 43 South Broad Street in Woodbury, Ms. Heavens Wings is a destination for soul food fans and offers wing options such as Bowlin Balls (sweet and spicy wings), garlic parmesan, Blazing buffalo, and Old Bay Butta. 856-202-5448.

This casual, family-owned eatery and bar is known for its chicken wings. Pic-A-Lilli Inn began back in the early 1920s, when Thomas Snyder opened Snyder’s Luncheonette. This spot eventually became Pic-A-Lilli Inn. The wings steal the show and you can order anywhere from 6 to 100 wings, perfect for any occasion wether you are sharing with friends or want them all for yourself. The spot is famous for Wing Night Wednesday every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Here, you can indulge in all-you-can-eat wings for $15/person! Now THAT’S a wing lover’s dream!

Sharky’s Wings and Raw Bar, Alpha, Boonton, and Clifton

Sauce choices include garlic butter Old Bay, honey chipotle, sweet buffalo, and more, including vegan options. Add a side of gourmet garlic Parmesan or Cajun fries, and you’ve got yourself a perfect meal!

Located within Atlantic City’s Tanger Outlets, WingCraft serves award-winning wings as well as burgers and craft beer. Sauces include hot and honey, mild, truffle honey, garlic Parmesan, roasted red pepper sriracha, and more.

The Wing Kitchen, Glassboro and Turnersville

The creation of Chopped champ Chef Timothy Witcher, The Wing Kitchen is the place to be for Chef Timothy’s signature, crispy, hand-crafted wings. Pick a Wing Kitchen sauce or a dry rub. The Wing Kitchen offers traditional, boneless, buttermilk tenders, and even crispy fried cauliflower. Sauces include honey jalapeño, smokehouse BBQ, buffalo, and numb tongue which is so hot, you’ll need to sign a waiver before digging in. 

Woodchuck’s BBQ, Point Pleasant

Specializing in classic BBQ favorites such as ribs and brisket, as well as wings, Woodchuck’s BBQ serves jumbo wings. They’re marinated, seasoned, smoked, and then finished in the fryer for extra crispiness. Sauces include buffalo mild or hot, BBQ horseradish, cajun rub, and more.
