The Grenville Hotel and Restaraunt – Bay Head

Whether you dine inside their cozy main dining room or outside on their veranda that wraps the entire front of the bright pink restaurant, make The Grenville Hotel & Restaurant your next date night spot. The restaurant is BYOB and serves classic American fare. After dinner, take a 2-minute walk to the beach and enjoy the ocean breeze. 

River Lady Cruises – Toms River 

The River Lady isn’t *technically* a restaurant, but it makes for a romantic evening out. The River Lady is an authentic reproduction of a paddle-wheel riverboat, and you can ride it along Barnegat Bay during one of their sunset dinners on Tuesdays or Thursdays. The sunset dinner cruise sails for 2-2 1/2 hours and offers 6 entree choices and dessert, as well as gorgeous sunset views. 

Villa Vittoria – Brick

Since 1986, Villa Vittoria has been serving classic Italian fare. From their homemade pasta to their chicken and seafood options and much more, nothing compares to a romantic and authentic Italian dinner.

Brasas BBQ – Tom’s River

Brasas BBQ is an authentic Portuguese Open Fire BBQ restaurant. They offer sandwiches, platters, wings, ribs, and more as party packages for your next event. 

Chop Shop – Seaside Heights

Chop Shop is located in the Hershey Motel in Seaside Heights. They serve BBQ, burgers, and craft beer, as well as breakfast. Stop in for a pork roll egg and cheese before hitting the beach in the morning, or treat yourself to a mid-beach day pick me up with their Chop Shop Burger (made with a burger patty, pulled pork, and pig candy). 

Fire Pit Grill – Bayville

Another Portuguese (and Spanish) BBQ place, Fire Pit Grill in Bayville offers all of your BBQ favorites including Baby Back Ribs, Chicken and Ribs Combos, Jumbo Wings, and even Paella and Empanadas. 

Hickory Hog – Point Pleasant

A classic BBQ spot, The Hickory Hog serves up mouth-watering bbq entrees ribs, sandwiches, wings, burgers, and much more. They also offer delicious appetizers including Steak Bites, Corn Fritters, and Hog Rolls that you can add on to your meal. 

Jersey Shore BBQ – Point Pleasant Beach

“BBQ and homemade are two words we live by at Smokies Craft BBQ,” says Smokies Craft BBQ on their website. Stop by Smokies and chow down on pulled pork, brisket, burgers, cheesestakes, and more, and be sure to add one of their homemade sauces to your meal for some extra flavor! 

Shore Points BBQ – Point Pleasant Beach

If you’re in the mood for more than just traditional BBQ selections, stop by Shore Point’s BBQ in Point Pleasant Beach. BBQ chicken, ribs, seafood, tacos, and even breakfast make up Shore Points BBQ’s delicious menu. Check out their specials on Sundays, and sip on one of their unique beverages including Blueberry Lemonade and Pineapple Melon Agave. Not sure what to order? Woodchuck’s BBQ – Point Pleasant

Specializing in classic BBQ favorites such as ribs, chicken, and brisket Woodchuck’s BBQ in Point Pleasant is a great stop for some authentic bbq. Small yet mighty is Castaway’s Cafe and Grill (formerly known as Pixie’s Sunrise Cafe). Located along the Point Pleasant Canal, this small-town cozy cafe offers all of your breakfast and lunch needs including pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, and more. They are also the only dock and dine breakfast place on the canal! 

Grits and Grace – Bayville

Grits and Grace in Bayville offers breakfast and lunch 7 days a week from 7:00 am-2:00 pm. Enjoy breakfast platters, pancakes and waffles, sandwiches, burgers, and more in this cozy comfort food restaurant. 

Lucille’s Country Cooking – Barnegat

Stop by Lucille’s for some delicious home-cooked comfort meal. Omelets, Texas French Toast, Melts, Burgers, and so much more make up their menu as well as 10+ fresh baked pie flavors that you can order for pick up!

Meemom’s – Brick

Open daily from 7 am -3 pm, Meemom’s specializes in “serving shamelessly delicious spins on traditional breakfast and lunch items”. As the self-proclaimed deans of “French Toast University”, their french toast options are unique and delicious including bananas foster, churro, apple pie, lemon berry bliss, campfire, and more. They also offer pancakes and waffles, breakfast bowls, paninis, salads, and plenty of drink options from their coffee bar. 

Old Causeway – Manahawkin

Located in Manahawkin, Old Causeway serves brunch on Sundays 10 am – 1 pm Get a made-to-order item from the brunch menu or enjoy special brunch cocktails like Hendrick’s breakfast martini, or his and hers mimosas.

Pop’s Corner – Point Pleasant Beach

Owned by Bruce Fischer, aka Pops, and his son-in-law Brian Neiman, Pop’s Corner is a family affair! This casual and family-friendly neighborhood eatery is located on Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant. Located by all of the shops and just a 10-minute walk to the beach, Pop’s Corner is the perfect spot to dine during your next Point Pleasant day trip. Pop’s features a modern American-style menu with favorites such as omelets, benedicts, french toast, breakfast sandwiches, and more, as well as lunch options such as burgers and sandwiches. Pop’s also has a connected market (“Pop’s Market”) where you can purchase coffee to go, grab-and-go food, locally-made culinary items, souvenirs, and more.

Shut up and Eat – Tom’s River

Self-described as a “Cheery daytime joint featuring creative spins on American diner classics”, Shut up and Eat is a unique breakfast and lunch spot that features waitstaff that serves you while wearing pajamas – yes, that’s right! If you wear your pajamas to the restaurant as well, they will reward you with a 13% discount, as long as it’s a matching set from top to bottom. 

Taylor Sam’s – Brick

Offering breakfast and lunch daily, you can enjoy favorites at Taylor Sam’s like egg sandwiches, pancakes, and french toast, as well as burgers and tacos. Taylor Sams is open on Weekdays from 8:00 am-3:30 pm and on Weekends 7:30 am-3:30 am.

Bam Bam Burger Co – Point Pleasant Beach

Located on Bay Avenue in Point Pleasant, Bam Bam Burger Co is a casual and comfortable burger place with multiple burger choices (including a build-your-own burger) as well as milkshakes and sides. In between a day of shopping and beach-ing, stop by Bam Bam and bite into one of their savory burgers. 

Barrier Island Burgers – Normandy Beach

In between Brick and Lavalette lies Normandy Beach’s Barrier Island Burgers. This small burger joint makes for the perfect post-beach meal and offers indoor and outdoor seating options. 

Burger 25 – Tom’s River and Ship Bottom

With 25 delicious burgers, unique shakes, wings, and more, Burger 25 is a fan-favorite burger restaurant in Ocean County. Choose anywhere from their Classic Cheeseburger, A1 Blue Burger, French Onion Soup Burger, Reef and Beef Burger, and many more!

Espo’s Pizzeria & Italian Grille – Lanoka Harbor

For over ten years, locally owned Espo’s Pizzeria & Italian Grille has been serving Lanoka Harbor. Try anywhere from traditional to gourmet pizza, as well as several entree options for your next Italian feast! 

Federico’s Pizza – Brick

Federico’s Pizza has been serving Brick Township for decades Whether you’re looking for a traditional or specialty pie, Federico’s has got you covered. Their Grandma Pie is a must-have for sure!

Ippolito’s Cucina Italiana Pizzeria – Lakewood

Ippolitos’s in Lakewood offers an extensive pizza menu with 14″, 16″ and 18″ options. Be sure to try their garlic knot crust for an extra pop of flavor! 

Joe Spano’s Tomato Pies – Point Pleasant

Old school and cozy, Joe Spano’s in Point Pleasant is a fan-favorite neighborhood pizzeria. They offer traditional and specialty pies, pastas, entrees, and a full catering menu. 

Maria’s Pizza – Point Pleasant

Square pie, specialty pie, gluten-free pie, you name it and Maria’s Pizza has it! Be sure to try one of their strombolis and calzones as well. 

Pies Place – Bayville

Whether you prefer square or round pie, Rosies Pizza in Point Pleasant Beach is the way to go. “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that’s Amore”. That’s Amore Trattoria Italiana lives up to the name with their big pizza pies that are thin crust, crispy, and authentic. Bagel Shops in Ocean County 

Just like pizza, nothing screams Jersey like a Pork Roll, Egg, and Cheese! While there are countless more across New Jersey, here are some of our favorite bagel shops in Ocean County:

Baron’s Bagels – Brick and Point Pleasant

Their bagels are big, fluffy, and a must-try! Plus, they definitely aren’t stingy with their fresh homemade cream cheese. Stop by Barons Bagels for a thick and cheesy breakfast sandwich, or a bagel piled high with one of their signature cream cheese flavors such as Siracha Bacon or Oreo. 

Bagel Run – Jackson

Located on County Line Road in Jackson, Bagel Run serves up not only bagels, but muffins, pastries, sandwiches, pancakes, and more!

Bagel Shack – LBI

Captain’s Inn – Forked River

“Enter as guests, leave as friends” is the motto at Captain’s Inn! Open 7 days a week, their menu offers classic seafood favorites such as calamari, escargot, and coconut shrimp, as well as other culinary delights such as their Sweet Breaded Sea Bass, Pan Seared Bourbon Scallops, Coconut Crusted Salmon, and more. 

Crab Claw’s Inn – Lavalette

Nominated for a TASTE Award for Outstanding Restaurant in the Bar/Pub category, Crab Claw’s Inn is a local favorite in Lavalette. Stop in and indulge in seafood selections such as Lobster Bisque, Maryland Style Crab Cake, Blackened Fish Wrap, Coconut Shrimp Tacos, and more!

Delaware Avenue Oyster House – Beach Haven

Located in the heart of Long Beach Island, Delaware Avenue Oyster House is worth a visit. Check out the raw bar for local oysters, shrimp, and clams, as well as other selections such as crab-fried rice, fish tacos, and fried oyster nachos.

For over 25 years, Gregory’s Seafood in Manchester has been locally owned and committed to serving customers with fresh ingredients and forming meaningful relationships with their regulars. This “quaint roadside seafood shack & fish market” offers five homemade soups, 25 appetizers, organize salmon dishes, crab cakes, and more as well as their seafood market that provides fresh caught fish. 

Half Moon Point Tavern and Grill – Point Pleasant 

Whether you dine indoors or outdoors, this classic restaurant and bar has everything a seafood lover could ask for! From their Firecracker Shrimp to their Poke Bowls, to their Seafood Salad and Sesame Crusted Salmon, Half Moon Point has something for everyone on their menu. 

Lobster Dock – Ortlety Beach & Seaside Heights

With two locations in Ortley Beach and right on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, Lobster Dock serves everything a seafood lover could dream of. Start your meal with selections from their raw bar or a bowl of clam chowder, then move on to the entree and choose from selections such as a Maine Lobster Roll, Soft Shell Crab, Roasted Salmon, Broiled New England Combo, and more. 

Lobster Shanty – Point Pleasant Beach

The Lobster Shanty in Point Pleasant Beach is an upscale, waterfront restaurant specializing in seafood, as well as steak. Mussels, Calamari, and Clams Casino make up their lighter fare menu, and entree dishes include Snow Crab Legs, Pan-Seared Red Snapper, Shrimp Risotto, and more. 

Shorefresh Seafood Market and Restaraunt – Point Pleasant

If you’re looking for some good ol’ fish n’ chips, Shorefresh serves up a delicious batch of battered and fried Fish N’ Chips, as well as Scallops N’ Chips, or Shrimp N’ Chips. Their menu also includes a Raw bar, seafood handhelds, seafood market specials, and more. 

The Shrimp Box and Outside the Box – Point Pleasant Beach

Think outside the box at The Shrimp Box and enjoy dishes from their extensive seafood menu! Appetizers include Crab & Spinach Dip, Buffalo Shrimp, Cilantro Seared Scallops, and more, as well as entrees such as Linguini and Clam Sauce, Captains Platter, Mahi Mahi, and much more. 

Ship Bottom Shellfish – Ship Bottom

Family-owned since 1981, this casual and homey restaurant specializes in delicious seafood options. Choose from selections such as Sea Scallops, Crab Imperial, Fish Boards, Seafood Pastas, and more. 

Spike’s Fish Market and Restaraunt – Point Pleasant Beach

Stop by this classic and casual seafood shack for all things seafood from their menu as well as their fish market! Enjoy choices such as Stuffed Shrimp, Broiled Fish of The Day, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Oysters, and more as well as freshly caught fish from their market and a full catering menu. 

Viking Fresh Off the Hook – Barnegat

Viking Fresh Off the Hook is solely a takeout restaurant “with a twist”. Call ahead to place your order, and when you arrive, choose to take home your meal or enjoy it outside at their shaded tables. Berkley Cut Steakhouse – Seaside Park

This upscale steakhouse in Seaside Park is family owned and operated, and waiting to be your next luxury dining experience. With an array of unique appetizers, some of the top choices they recommend on their website are Lobster meatballs, Double smoked bacon, Seafood tower, Burrata cheese, and more. As for the entrees, indulge in their New York Strip Steak (which is famous in Seaside Park) as well as 8 other steak choices including 10 Ounce Prime Filet Mignon, 16 Ounce 28 Day Dry-Aged Prime Cowboy Steak, 20 Ounce Prime Kansas City 28 Day Dry-Aged Bone-In Strip and more. 

Manera’s Restaurant – Brick & Manahawkin 

Specializing in Italian and American steak and seafood dishes, enjoy steak dishes including their 8oz Char Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Pasta with Ground Sirloin Steak, and their Steak Sandwich. 

The Old Causeway Steak and Oyster House – Manahawkin

Step into this energetic tavern and enjoy live music and delicious steak. Their menu offers four signature steaks: “King’s Oscar”, “The Black Eye”, “Rosemary’s Strip”, and the “Karate Chop”. They also serve a Tri-Tip Steak Sandwich on a sourdough onion roll with arugula, caramelized onions, horseradish sauce, and gruyere. 

Prime 13 – Point Pleasant Beach

Prime 13 is an upscale yet casual restaurant setting that specializes in wood-fired steaks, seafood, and more. Try their 8oz filet, NY Strip (10oz or 14oz), Flank Steak, and more. You can also choose from one of their “Steaks for Two” either their Tomahawk (40oz) or The House (44oz).

Sinner’s Steakhouse – Point Pleasant Beach

With locally sourced ingredients and premium cuts, Sinner’s Steakhouse offers a dining experience with a view of the Point Pleasant/Manasquan inlet. Indulge in one of their delicious steak options including their Bone-In NY Strip (20oz) Marinated Skirt Steak (14oz), Tomahawk for two, and more. Stonefire Grille – Beachwood

Stonefire Grille offers a menu of classic American fare which of course includes steak. Choose from their Hangar Steak (Cooked sous vide, finished on the grill with white cheddar and bacon Boursin smashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and demi glaze) as well as a fan favorite, their Cheese Steak (Sliced Short Rib, sauteed onions, peppers, horseradish mayo with choice of cheese on a hero roll).
