Brings their Fantasy AdventureFest back to Historic Smithville
Featuring a Children’s Pre-Show Party, “Tea With Alice”
Before the Premier of Their Original, Comedic Musical
“Riddlesbrood’s Alice in Wonderland”
An exciting, new way of presenting live theater will be rolling into Historic Smithville again this spring! The premier of “Riddlesbrood’s Alice in Wonderland”, an original, rollicking, musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic, nonsensical novel, ‘”Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, by Riddlesbrood Touring Theatre Company, will be the featured free
outdoor attraction at their annual 2-day Fantasy AdventureFest that will return to Historic Smithville on Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd. Rain dates are Saturday, May 28th, and Sunday, May 29th, 2022.
Presented on Riddlesbrood’s portable, main stage, along with 2 other stages set up on the Village Green in the heart of the Village of Smithville, 615 E. Moss Mill Road, Absecon, NJ 08201, “Riddlesbrood’s Alice in Wonderland” will have matinee performances at 1 PM and 5 PM on Saturday and at 1 PM on Sunday. A variety of vendors with fantasy and adventure themed art, artistry and collectibles will add to the weekend festivities. Admission and parking are free both days.
Before the main stage shows, children accompanied by an adult will have an opportunity to have “Tea with Alice” (seating at 10 AM and 11:30 AM on Saturday and Sunday) They’ll be greeted by an attentive Alice and the wild and fun-loving Mad Hatter before they watch a special, interactive children’s show that includes a puppet show, get their face painted, and enjoy hot or cold tea and sweet treats by Amy Manzione, owner/Executive Chef of Stir It Up Catering, in an outdoor “Tea Party” setting next to the stage.
Each person who attends the Tea Party will receive a complementary discount offer from Stir It Up Catering that can be redeemed at their shop in Heather Croft Square in Egg Harbor Township. Tickets are $20. Reservations are suggested. Buy Tickets Here.
Actors from the Riddlesbrood Touring Theatre Troupe, along with local child, teen, and adult actors from the Delaware Valley, will perform in “Riddlesbrood’s Alice in Wonderland“, a family-friendly, comical, inter-active exploration of Alice’s fantasy world filled with their trademark banter and improvisation that guarantees a rollicking good time for audiences of all ages.
During the Fantasy AdventureFest weekend, Historic Smithville will be bustling with activities for the whole family. Its 50 charming specialty shoppes, an Antique Arcade, the award-winning Smithville Inn restaurant and 3 other main restaurants and 7 eateries within the Village will be open to visit and enjoy before the shows, during intermissions or after the shows.
