December 21: Quaker Steak & Lube in Brick, Edison, and Pohatcong (Phillipsburg) hosts Dinner with Santa while dining on award-winning wings, beefed-up burgers, custom-built combos, and more. Families will also enjoy a Kids Eat Free special and children ages 12 and under can choose any entree on the Quaker Steak & Lube Kids Lube Cruiser menu. Reservations are encouraged and guests must bring their own cameras for photos with Santa. 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
January 1: Spend New Year’s Day with the Garden State Philharmonic! The music is accompanied by a buffet brunch and champagne bubbly, mimosas, and Bloody Marys. Tickets range from $45 to $55 per person and must be purchased in advance. 11 a.m. Georgian Court University, 900 Lakewood Ave., Lakewood.
January 7: The Princeton Library welcomes author Becky Libourel Diamond, as she discusses her book, The Thousand Dollar Dinner, the story of a 19th-century culinary challenge. This event is free of charge. Princeton Library, 65 Witherspoon Street, Princeton.
January 28: The Montclair Food & Wine Festival’s Frost Bites delivers many small bites and plenty of bubbly! Warm up for the big late spring event with this celebration of food and drink, featuring 20 top local chefs, live modern rock, and a VIP meet-and-greet with NJ native and Food Network star Chef Amanda Freitag.
