November 5: To kick off this year’s Jersey Shore Restaurant Week, local Jersey Shore restaurants are coming together to offer a Dream Dinner, showcasing four courses that will be paired with wines from various California regions. Each course is created by a different chef from a different Jersey Shore restaurant from beach communities including Point Pleasant, Bradley Beach, Asbury Park, and Manasquan. There are 100 seats available for the Dream Dinner. Shipwreck Point Steakhouse, Point Pleasant Beach.

November 6 and 7: Check out The International Festival at St. Anthony’s Orthodox Church. The international food selection includes Greek, Middle Eastern, Slavic, and Eastern European. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. St. Anthony’s Orthodox Church, 385 Ivy Lane, Bergenfield.

November 6 to 15: You heard right! Jersey Shore Restaurant Week is back! The week will include various dinner events and dinner discounts at various Jersey Shore restaurants. For details or to purchase tickets, head to jerseyshorerestaurantweek.com.

November 7: The Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown is here! This first ever Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown festival will feature only New Jersey beer, gourmet food trucks and chefs preparing BBQ and bacon creations.  A competition for the best of best, along with People’s Choice awards for Best Dish and Best Beer will take place, featuring Jersey Bites founder and executive editor, Deb Smith. NJCB Members are able to purchase discounted tickets when they use an NJCB associated email and the code MembersEatBacon promo code when purchasing tickets. 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Waterloo Village Concert Field, Stanhope.

November 7 and 8: Grape Adventure Wine Festival hits Six Flags Great Adventure. The weekend is the best way to transition between FrightFest and the all-new Holiday in the Park. The festival features nearly 150 locally produced wines for sampling from 14 New Jersey vineyards. The festival also features handcrafted gifts and food truck vendors. 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson.

November 8: The Great Jersey Shore Martini Contest returns! This annual contest determines the best martini at the Jersey Shore. Area bartenders will mix, shake and prepare their best martini for a panel of judges, including one from Jersey Bites! The competition also includes a People’s Choice award, sponsored by CD Vodka. November 16: Forks & Corks is back for a third year at the Mill in Spring Lake Heights. The event’s food, wine, and beer tasting provides a glimpse of the delectables available along the Jersey Shore. Tickets are available for a discounted price until November 1 (algonquinarts.org). 6 to 9 p.m. The Mill, 101 Old Mill Road, Spring Lake Heights.

November 16: The 7th Annual A Taste of Bergen, is a community cocktail party featuring entrees and desserts from some of the area’s best cuisines and restaurants, as it benefits the Foundation at Bergen Regional. This fundraiser includes cuisine from several local restaurants, with tickets costing $75 per person. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 644 Pascack Road, Washington Township.

November 21: Head to Cedar Grove for the local Fire Department’s Chili Cook-Off from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. All of the proceeds from the cook-off will benefit Cedar Grove resident and NJ State Trooper Bill “No Fear” Fearon. Special guests include Chopped judge and Iron Chef contestant Amanda Freitag and WPLJ’s Todd and Jayde. Tickets are $35 and include beer and wine. Event will take place at the Macedonian Church, 1050 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove.

November 27, 28, 29: Throughout Holiday Wine Trail Weekend participating New Jersey wineries will be providing holiday tastings along with complimentary grape vine wreath and holiday ornaments. December 4: Participating businesses open their their doors in Downtown Bordentown for a Holiday Chocolate Walk full of fun treats and chocolates galore. Various restaurants, bars and other food shops are opening their doors to passport holders for a chance to showcase their chocolatey treats whether it be just a piece of delicious chocolate, a baked dessert, or chocolate-tini! Passports can be printed here. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Downtown Bordentown.

December 6: Hoppy Holidays! The Hoppy Holiday Beer Bazaar comes in for a landing at the Flying Fish Brewery in Somerdale. Kick off the holiday season with some of the best hops in New Jersey from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Flying Fish Brewery, 900 Kennedy Blvd, Somerdale.
