It’s that time of year again. Jersey Fresh strawberry season is upon us! I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how far superior our little red gems are to those giant green house berries we get all winter.
Below, our Biters share where to find the very best berries – from farm stands and markets to pick-your-own farms. Just remember, this season doesn’t last long. Get out there and enjoy them while they last!
Butterhof’s Shady Brook Farm – 5800 White Horse Pike, Egg Harbor. 609-965-4696 for dates and times. Pick-your-own strawberries and farm stand with other fruits and vegetables available.
Dewolf’s U Pick Farm – 58 West Colliers Mill Road, New Egypt. Dewolfsupick.com. Pick-your-own and Kim’s Country Store. Call for hours and availability 609-758-6288.
Duffields Farm Market – Greentree and Chapel Heights Road, Sewell. Duffieldsfarm.com. Retail store, bakery, and pick-your-own. 8 am to 6 pm.
Ingraldi Farms – 1319 Cedar Avenue, Millville. Pick-your-own Strawberries. Call 856-451-1019 for more information.
Johnson’s Corner Farm -133 Church Road in Medford, NJ Pick your own strawberries May 25th to June 18th. Daily from 10 am to 4 pm – Submitted by Beth Christian, Burlington County
Margate Community Farmers Market – Steve and Cookies Restaurant parking lot, Monroe & Amherst Ave., Margate. Visit them on Facebook. They have a group of local Organic farms with fresh fruits and veggies and lots of other offerings and goodies. You can visit more them one all in one day! They bring the farms to you! Market open Thursdays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm starting June 13th through August 29th.
Marlboro Farm Market – 601 Route 49, Bridgeton. Visit them on Facebook. Farm Market with Jersey Fresh strawberries daily. Open daily, 9 am to 6 pm.
Pontano’s Farm Fresh Produce – 3937 South Lincoln Avenue, Vineland. Farm stand with Jersey Fresh strawberries daily. 10 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, 10 am to 3 pm Sunday. Click here for more information.
Rowand’s Farm – 295 Greentree Road, Glassboro. Pick-your-own strawberries. Daily from 9 am to 7 pm. Visit them on Facebook for more information.
Silverton Farms– 1520 Silverton Road, Toms River. (732) 244-2621. A small, family-owned “organic practices” farm (they do not have the certification yet), you need to call to see when their strawberries are ready for the picking (you can pick your own). They also sell the berries already picked, as well as eggs, fresh produce vegetable and flowering plants. Local honey is also available. Sparacio Farms – 690 Landis Avenue, Bridgeton. Sparaciofarms.com. Pick-your-own strawberries daily from 6 am to 12 noon. Farm stand, fresh produce and more.
Terhune Orchards – 330 Cold Soil Rd in Princeton. www.terhuneorchards.com. Pick your own Strawberries Late May-Early June. In addition to strawberries they have a variety of other pick your own fruits and veggies! They also have fun summer events for the whole family and wine tasting for the adults.
